About me...

Picture
Hello and thank you for visiting this site. I'm Janet Buckskin and I've been keeping rabbits, on & off, as an adult, for the past 30 years. Before getting my first rabbit, I purchased "The House Rabbit Handbook" (by Marinell Harriman). It was this book that launched me into the world of indoor rabbits. Over the years, I have housed many rabbits and have watched knowledge about rabbit care grow in the pet world.
Through my membership on a rabbit forum and through my own experience, I am continually learning about the intricacies of rabbits.
While there is much misinformation about rabbit care on the web, there is also much good information. Some of these sites I will link in the 'RESOURCES' tab above.

My original goal for developing this site, was to provide the Pet Rabbit Handbook (found here). It was my desire for this to be readily available to anyone considering a pet rabbit and also for those who already own a rabbit and are trying to learn proper care.
The Pet Rabbit Handbook (as explained in the handbook itself) is completely free provided one does not use it for re-sale or to make a profit. It is free for educational purposes and may be reproduced for personal use. Rabbit Rescues are welcome to use it for educational purposes as well.
Thanks go to the author for creating the Handbook and making it available for the benefit of bunnies everywhere.
This website has since outgrown its original intent of just being a means to access the Pet Rabbit Handbook.The number of topics has blossomed and the information available now on this site has surpassed the information in the Handbook.

It is my sincere pleasure to encourage bunny owners everywhere in caring for their adorable, mischievous bunnies.

Thank you for visiting this site.

Please do enjoy hopping from page to page!

*** I am regularly adding to this site, so check back later for updates and additions. ***

{ I should note that this site is based in the US. Therefore it does not include info relating to vaccines that are needed for rabbits in the UK and Australia.
No vaccines have been needed for pet rabbits in the United States until the recent outbreak of RHDV2 in parts of the US.
Please click HERE for further vaccine information if you live in the US. }
